Selectmen’s Meeting

November 18, 2025

 

Present:   Rich Dufresne, Jonathan Shomody, Chet Bowles

 

Call to order by Rich Dufresne at 5:30 pm 

 

Motion to approve the 11/4/2025 and 11/11/2025 minutes (Bowles/Shomody).  All in favor, motion carried.

 

Motion to approve the 11/18/2025 payroll and manifest (Bowles/Shomody).  Allin in favor, motion carried.

 

Motion to approve the 2025 second property tax bill warrant (Dufresne/Bowles).  All in favor, motion carried.

 

Peter LaRoche met with the Board to discuss a new septic system at the Matthews property at 64 Cross Road.  There is going to be a bathroom installed in the barn and he is in the process of getting the septic design.  This is just to install a bathroom in the barn and there are no plans to create an ADU.  The Board will need to sign off on the septic design once it has been completed.

 

Shomody and Sandy Eneguess met with Michelle Krook regarding a new driveway.  Setbacks are met, trees need to be removed on the north side, the south side needs 9 feet.  It was suggested that the Board request the site plan be redrawn.  Shomody suggested denying the application submitted, request the driveway be moved 9 feet to the north, have it redesigned and resubmitted in compliance with the existing site plan regulations.  Motion to deny the Krook driveway application as submitted and per the discussion (Shomody/Dufresne).  All in favor, motion carried.

 

Reviewed a letter to the Eversource President requesting that Eversource complete the pole survey needed for Comcast to continue fiber internet lines in Sharon.  The Board signed the letter to be mailed.

 

The DRA and Avitar will be contacted to set up a joint meeting to receive explanations on how equalization ratios are determined.

 

ZBA – Beth Fernald has previously been appointed as an alternate.  Chet Bowles would like to become the alternate and have Beth Fernald appointed as a full member, Beth has agreed to this.  Motion to accept Chet Bowles’ resignation as a full member of the ZBA, appoint Beth Fernald as a full member of the ZBA and Chet Bowles as an alternate of the ZBA (Dufresne/Shomody).  All in favor, motion carried.

 

The Board discussed hiring a Motor Vehicle Clerk to help the Town Clerk, and discussed determining a rate of pay.

 

It was mentioned that the Planning Board needs a new member.

 

Harris update – Harris received an extension from the DES on the Alteration of Terrain permit.  The attorneys have sent a joint letter from Sharon and Peterborough to Harris Construction.  The letter has 4 items that need to be addressed with a 30 day response period.

 

Reviewed the Town Clerk’s DMV audit results.
