Selectmen’s Meeting
August 26, 2025
Present: Rich Dufresne, Jonathan Shomody, Chet Bowles
Call to order by Rich Dufresne at 5:30 pm
George Carmichael, EMD, informed the Board that the updated Hazard Mitigation Plan has been approved by FEMA. Motion to adopt the Hazard Mitigation Plan as per the copy provided by Southwest Region Planning Commission via email 25JUL25 (Dufresne/Bowles). All in favor, motion carried.
Motion to approve the minutes of 7/22/2025 (Bowles/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried.
Motion to approve the 8/26/2025 payroll and manifest (Dufresne/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried.
Motion to approve request for reimbursement from the Highway Fund, Legal Fund, and Wilson II Fund (Dufresne/Bowles). All in favor, motion carried.
Motion to appoint John MacEachran as Health Officer and Gerald DeBonis as Deputy Health Officer (Dufrese/Bowles). All in favor, motion carried.
Reviewed reimbursement request from Lynn Callahan for archive materials and work done in the Meeting House from 2024 and 2025. There is money in the Archive budget to cover the archive items, this request will be processed in September. The Meeting House items will be revisited in November. Ms. Callahan was requested to estimate future items to be budgeted in 2026.
Mr. Dufresne:
Contacted Eversource, the trees on Cross Road have been removed from Dr. Harrington’s property.
The Van Blarcom intent to cut issues have been resolved. The State of NH has issued a temporary driveway permit, and there does not appear to be any wetlands on the property.
The South Cemetery clean-up is scheduled for 9/20/2025 from 9 am-11:30 am. A social event is scheduled at the Meeting House afterward by the “Sharing in Sharon” Committee. Sadie Halliday has given permission for the volunteers to park on her empty lots. Mr. Dufresne will try to contact Pierre Groleau and Jason Rondeau regarding the upper gate repair.
The McCoy Rd Cemetery map has been reorganized. Suggested budgeting for a digitized map.
Brought up approaching Mike Borden about his fees as a Code Enforcement Officer for future reference.
Suggested meet on the 3rd Tuesday of September in the School House and not meet the first Tuesday of Sept.
Mr. Shomody:
The Jaffrey-Peterborough well project has gone live.
Expressed interest in representing the Town as a Commissioner for Southwest Region Planning Commission. This is a Planning Board decision.
Ken Callahan:
Berquist Masonry did interior work at the School House. This was an unexpected expense. Mr. Callahan asked if this $6,375.00 could be paid and requested the funds come from the Wilson II Fund. Motion to process the Berquist Masonry invoice in the amount of $6,375.00 for interior work at the School House and request reimbursement from Wilson II Fund (Dufresne/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried
Sandy Eneguess:
A couple of roadway “skirts” will be done.
Roadside mowing is being done.
