Thank you to all the election officials and volunteers that helped the election run smoothly.
There is a lot that happens behind the scenes: setting up the polling place, organizing volunteers, taking down the polling place and putting everything away, and the generous cooking that provides us with a delicious lunch, dinner, and all day deserts, tallying the results, delivering results, etc..
There were 7 election officials, our three selectmen, 12 volunteer counters, and a short visit by the Bowles to deliver Chet’s traditional meatballs. We also had an inspection by the State, which we passed.
Election officials were on the job from 10 AM to 10 PM, but we need to specially acknowledge the organizational efficiency of Dee Mitchell, our Town Clerk. Without her leadership, we would not have had as successful an election.
Lastly, a big thank you to the voters. We had 301 voters on the rolls, signed up 12 new voters, and 265 townspeople voted! That’s almost an 85% turnout!
Well done Sharon!
