On December 18, 2025 the Select Board held a special meeting that included a representative from the State Department of Revenue and from Avitar Property Assessment Company. The purpose of that meeting was to obtain greater clarity and understanding of the factors that contributed to the recent increase in property taxes.
The impact of the school budget on Sharon’s recent tax increase was not addressed at this meeting. The Select Board will hold a special meeting with our School Board Representative, Jim Fredrickson.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide Sharon residents with helpful information to better understand how ConVal public school costs are determined/allocated and how that calculation impacts Sharon’s school portion of the tax rate with emphasis on the current year’s impact.
