Update- Zoning Board Mtg 1-15-26

We wanted to provide an update on the recent ZBA hearing concerning the proposed gravel excavation on Swamp Road.
As many of you will remember, there was a similar request a number of years ago to excavate the same property.  The ZBA denied that request.  It was appealed and, ultimately, the NH Supreme Court upheld the Town’s decision.
Once a decision such as that has been made, there can be no further applications to excavate on the same property unless there is a substantial change in the application.
In the most recent case, the applicant maintained that they were making enough changes to warrant a new application.  That was the first line of questioning pursued by the Board.
Before the Board could vote on the question, the applicant announced that they were withdrawing the application and they left the meeting.
The Board then held a brief question and answer session before adjourning the meeting.
Based on comments made by the applicant, we anticipate that they will submit a new application for a different type of activity.  We will let you know if/when that happens.
