Selectmen’s Meeting
November 4, 2025
Present: Rich Dufresne, Jonathan Shomody, Chet Bowles
Call to order by Rich Dufresne at 5:30 pm
Motion to approve the minutes of 10/21/2025 (Dufresne/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried.
Anne Booth and Anne Fisher, ConCom Co-chairs, informed the Board that the Concom is investigating the possibility of putting the Town Forest into a conservation easement. The Monadnock Conservancy has expressed an interest in holding an easement. The ConCom is not sure of the exact costs yet, but are estimating $20,000 to $30,000. It needs to be determined whether a warrant article will be needed. Currently the conservation fund has $140,456 in it.
It has been discovered that a business is being run out of 31 Swamp Road, Dorothy Chapman. A letter explaining the need for a permit, whether a home occupation or a home based business. An application will be sent with the letter.
Update on Harris Construction – The joint response from Peterborough and Sharon to Harris Construction is 9 pages. It will be mailed to Harris Construction, with a 30 day time frame for response. Shomody has contacted the DES for an update on the status of the alteration of terrain.
Discussion about the tax rate setting, a special meeting will be held 11/11/2025 at 5:30 pm to set the 2025 tax rate.
The sight line evaluation for Michelle Krook will be Friday, 11/7/25 at 9 am, Shomody and Eneguess will attend.
The Board acknowledged Pierre Grouleau and thanked him for the work done on the gate at the Jarmany Hill Road South Cemeter.
Mr. Shomody:
- Has been contacted by the Town of New Ipswich regarding the perambulation of the town line.
